Role Overview
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical engineering principles and a strong commitment to developing high-quality, reliable products. As a Mechanical Engineer at NEXT, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Electrical Engineers, Software Developers, Project Managers, and Quality Assurance teams, to develop and deliver innovative solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.
Your role will involve overseeing all stages of product development, from concept through testing and implementation. This includes detailed engineering analysis, design, prototyping, and documentation. Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative spirit are essential to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems in accordance with project requirements and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing, assembly, and operation.
- Generate detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, testing protocols, and user manuals.
- Analyze and improve existing mechanical systems to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) to assess structural integrity and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and interns, sharing expertise to foster a culture of learning.
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget, proactively identifying and addressing potential challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor�s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A master�s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within a manufacturing or technology environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FEA tools.
- Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to conduct thorough mechanical analysis and testing.
- Strong project management skills, including experience with timeline and budget management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members at all levels.
- Highly detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing accurate and reliable work.
